What Does Modern Prejudice Look Like?

Here is the link to the interview and story we listened to in class.  Definitely something to think about as we ponder questions in Uncle Tom's Cabin!

Questions:

The Danger of a Single Story-Chimamanda Adichie

How does the single story we tell ourselves and our culture tells us (silent and spoken) change us? Why is looking at a story only one way dangerous? Think in terms of what we are discussing and learning from Uncle Tom's Cabin. How many ways (lenses) are there to look at a story? Does this work for any or every story?

A Great Uncle Tom's Cabin Resource

We've talked a lot about the challenging language and writing style of Uncle Tom's Cabin.  While it is a must read for every American, it can be frustrating at times.  Listening while reading along is helpful to focus and remember.  There is a great free audio app in the iTunes store I suggest downloading if possible.
